Her Manus ’67 double sliding door panel

The bus is a '67 double sliding door panel.  Engine is a 1600cc. From day one it's been a Belgian bus. All my life, I dreamed of having one, but as you know buses are expensive so it took me 15 years to get one I bought it together with my girlfriend. Because I'm not used to doing bodywork on a car, we have chosen to buy one with a fully restored body (it was done in a VW garage). For the rest the bus was completely empty, no interior. The inside was painted at my place, the exterior was done by a pro. Color is original VW, L469 anthracite. I did everything together with my girlfriend, for both of us it was the first time we worked on a car.

I have always been working on bikes before (see pics, some of my bikes and projects). The wood is cedar, the floor are vinyl vintage tiles. The whole bus is insulated with 20mm thick Armaflex. All the panels inside I've cut and fitted myself, and the leather was made by my mom. Nothing is bought, all homemade! Under the bed is a fridge and the electrics, under the seat a Propex heater from JustKampers. We wanted a bus with a clean, non-camper interior, but it had to have all the facilities to make it possible to go camping and travel with it. Sorry for my bad english, if you have questions, just ask!

Cheers dude!

That is sweet! My uncle and I just dropped off our 67 split, single slider last week to the mechanics. Then it will be off to the body shop. My Grandfather bought the the bus brand new from an LA dealership. It was shipped full of parts getting them duty free.

Absolutely outstanding! I have always loved the windowless backs, because, well, there's more things you can do back there without people finding out. And I love the cafe racers too! And seriously, who would not love that dog? 🙂

This is beautiful. I just bought a 66′ double slide door, panel van, right hand drive. I would love to talk with you about your bus, and mine. They are so rare and I have many questions for you. Peter Grice on Facebook.
